You say to The Caretaker,"Tell me about the Shimmering Citadel."
"The Shimmering Citadel is all that remains of what you may have known as the Plane of Sky. In ages past when all that we once knew began to change, the Djinn Master used his powers to bring us from that realm to this."
You say to The Caretaker,"Some say Mudeef the Vizier of Maj'Dul summoned the djinn to here."
"Mudeef spreads lies to foster belief in his non-existent skills. You see what we djinn have created here in the sky; do you believe that anyone from this world could have summoned the entire Citadel to this place?"
You say to The Caretaker,"Tell me about the Djinn Master."
"In the long ago, the Djinn Master rose to power amongst all the greater djinn of the Plane of Sky. When chance came, he moved his primary palace, the Shimmering Citadel, from that plane of existence to this. He is all-powerful, all-knowing and a most gracious host."
You say to The Caretaker,"He is indeed most gracious. I wish I could thank him in person for his hospitality."
"Do you? They say it is wise to be careful what one wishes for, as sometimes the wish goes astray. The Master is not ours to call upon, though he does favor those who offer him gifts."
You say to The Caretaker,"Tell me about the poets."
"All djinn love poetry, for the rhythm of the words is not only soothing but is real. I care for the poets in the Master's palace. They lack nothing. The finest ink, the smoothest parchment, the sharpest quills and whatever companionship they desire. It is an honor to be one of the Master's poets."
You say to The Caretaker,"Tell me about Mudeef."
"Mudeef is a thief and a liar. He spins grand tales about his past - tales too fantastical to be believed. He spends his days in Maj'Dul torturing the helpless and pretending that he is powerful."
You say to The Caretaker,"Why would he do such a thing?"
"The ways of thieves like Mudeef are veiled to us. He is no better than the cursed naga that tried to fill the ears of the Master with their poison, but he knew the truth. The Master values what is real."
You say to The Caretaker,"Tell me about the naga."
"The naga...they are much like Mudeef, with their vanity and pride. Some of them used to be djinna...did you know that?"
You say to The Caretaker,"I thought that was a myth."
"Everything is a myth that one does not experience first hand. Some of the Master's djinna were petty and deceitful. The Master only values that which is real. To him, their lies made them less than real, so he simply revealed their true nature."
You say to The Caretaker,"That's pretty harsh for those djinna."
"Perhaps, but they knew the penalty. Deceiving the Master is punishable by death. In many ways, that they still live is a tribute to his mercy. He is all-powerful, all-knowing and most merciful."
You say to The Caretaker,"Tell me about the dragons."
"Some say there is but one dragon, however those who live in the Citadel know very well that there are two. They are shape-shifters, rogue dragons whose true purpose may never be known. The gold dragon sometimes appears as a Koada'Dal; the silver one has been seen as a Teir'Dal."
You say to The Caretaker,"Where did they come from?"
"It is not my place to say. They were once guests here, but they slew the former Master and fled in disgrace. Fortunately, our current Master was strong enough to repel them. The dragons are deceitful, cunning creatures that should not be trusted."
